When I graduated from high school, I felt confused about my future direction. When I had a conversation with an engineer who graduated from the Department of Materials, he mentioned that the Department of Materials The fields of study are wide. For students like us who were partial to majors in high school, the pressure is less than other departments, and the access is wider than other departments, so we chose I-Shou University, which is closer to home. Department of Science and Engineering.
When I was a freshman, in order to encourage students to learn in a variety of ways, the school provided generous scholarships and bursaries for foreign languages, cross-field studies, etc., so I took other subjects as a freshman. It is a course related to materials. Each professor carefully leads students to explore the secrets of learning various materials. Even when they encounter difficulties, they take the trouble and carefully to solve students' doubts, allowing us to establish a good professional knowledge foundation.
What interests me the most among the courses is that the Materials Department has a lot of experimental courses. In order to cultivate students' ability to practice and conduct special research, the Department There are experimental classes from freshman to junior year. Compared with holding heavy original documents and memorizing them, it is easier to remember the principles by doing experiments by yourself. Through the teachings of teachers and senior sisters, operating the instruments by hand, It is a very useful experience to discuss with team members, put forward their own ideas, complete experiments as a team, and learn to accept other people's views and opinions and integrate them together.
My undergraduate special subject experiment was conducted in the thin film laboratory with teacher Chen Guoju. I was very happy to conduct research with my seniors. The laboratory is like a big family , everyone will discuss and learn together from time to time. I like the atmosphere in the laboratory very much. I am very grateful to Teacher Chen Guoju and my seniors for their guidance, which allowed me to learn and grow in a happy environment, and finally successfully entered my ideal graduate school.
In addition to verifying the principles of professional materials science, the study through special research in the undergraduate department also established my ability to conduct independent research. I am confident that I can overcome difficulties with the skills needed to enter a graduate school or even enter the industry in the future. I am very glad that I chose the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at I-Shou University as my choice for further study four years ago.
