In high school, there were standardized school rules and learning methods, and someone supervised your studies. After entering college, I began to learn to face things alone and adjust my learning style. I was in the physics department in high school. I chose to study the Department of Materials at I-Shou University out of curiosity about the microscopic world and spacecrafts. After I started studying, I discovered that what I learned in the Department of Materials was closely related to life. From daily life items to even Whether it is a plastic bag, a vase, an insulated steel cup, or even 3C products, transportation and medical equipment, there is an inseparable relationship between the manufacturing process, properties and microstructure of the materials, which made me deeply understand. We realize that materials are not just what we see on the surface, but there is more knowledge worth exploring and learning.

Before going to college, I was worried about adaptability issues such as making friends, getting along with teachers and students, and studying. However, after entering the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at I-Shou, I discovered that the teachers and students in this department We all get along with each other as friends, and teachers and students get along very harmoniously. The teachers care about us and will encourage and assist students in their studies in a timely manner. In terms of getting along with peers, I received a lot of care. I once formed a reading group with my classmates, and we would discuss problems together. In addition to improving my thinking and problem-solving abilities, I also made good friends who can share difficulties together. .

When I was a sophomore, I entered Professor Li Guorong’s composite materials laboratory to conduct special research. Under the guidance of the teacher, I engaged in special topics related to the application of carbon materials in biomedical testing. Experiments, during the study and training process of conducting special experiments and research institute selection, I learned and absorbed not only the content knowledge of the undergraduate course in the Department of Materials, but also cross-field knowledge of biomedicine and other aspects. It is inevitable in the process There will be problems that cannot be solved, but the answers can be obtained through discussions with teachers and seniors, as well as collecting and reading materials in the library. This training process has been of great help to me.

As for studying in graduate school, I actually decided to continue studying in graduate school before I started studying in the undergraduate department. Therefore, I planned to use the recommendation method during college. Although my grades in school were not outstanding at the beginning, every time I took an exam and every semester, I told myself to "be better than myself the last time", so my grade growth rate showed a positive increase. trend. In the process of studying for selection, in addition to learning how to operate instruments, conduct experiments, organize data, write papers and oral examination materials, through discussions with my supervisor and repeated oral examination exercises, I deeply understood that the most important point of selection is "Be familiar with your own experiments and the materials and principles involved." This is also an important key to allowing yourself to show off your skills during interviews. I am also very happy that I was able to successfully apply for a research institute that I am satisfied with. Thank you for your tireless teachings. and the assistance and encouragement of the brothers and sisters in the laboratory.

In addition, the activities in the department are also very fun. There are about 5 activities you can participate in a year, so that your circle of friends is not limited to your peers, but also with your department. The senior sisters and junior students at the school weaved beautiful memories together. IShou Materials Department will not let you down. It is a warm family, just waiting for you to join us!
